Another event for Jpop culture lovers in June! Gundam Dock Singapore will be happening at the very heart of orchard road! Details below:

Bandai Namco Asia, one of the leading toy makers and arcade, mobile and home video game publishers in Japan, and Takashimaya Department Store, presents an iconic exhibition in celebration of the 35th anniversary of GUNDAM model kit and in conjunction with Singapore’s Golden Jubilee– the “Gundam Docks at Singapore”. One of the largest such exhibitions outside Japan, the approximately 4,000sqm showcase will include over 200 models of the phenomenal Gundam series – the first anime based on space war and machines that sparked off the genre of robotic anime. From 4 to 28 June, the exhibition will be held at Takashimaya Square, B2 and Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.

Mobile Suit Gundam, a televised anime series about humanity in space colonies, is today one of Japan’s top Popular Culture Icons.

  • Choose your side in the war of robots
The experience begins as two gigantic robots loom above you at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. Witness the fight between Earth Federation vs Principality of Zeon as the RX-78-2 Gundam, the largest Gundam to be showcased outside Japan, come face to face with Char’s Zaku at the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road.
The Gundam and Zaku are around 6 metres each, at a scale of 1:3, and weighs two tonnes each. Accompanied by daily light and sound shows held in the evenings, this is an activity you cannot miss as the war drama comes to life before your eyes.

Gundam Merchandise and Activities to thrill fans and J-pop lovers alike

Collectors, shoppers and anyone who wants to learn more about Gundam or bring home a piece of this extra-ordinary exhibition, can head down to Takashimaya Square, B2. There will be over 10 booths selling Gundam merchandises including exclusive editions.

  • Four Weeks of History, Excitement and Pure Legend
Said Mr. Takayoshi Oyama, Bandai Namco Singapore’s Hobby Products Dept Manager, “Gundam Docks in Singapore will be Asia’s largest Gundam exhibition and showcase. Singapore was selected to host the show as it is a strategic market for us and a gateway for South-east Asia. In partnership with one of Asia’s best shopping malls, we look forward to delivering a spectacular experience for fans, families, and friends in Singapore, as well as from the region.”
Admission for the exhibition is free, and the exhibition will open from 10am to 9.30pm daily.

            Secret Lab Throne Micro Review

            $

The Secret Lab Throne is a Local product. Retailing for SGD$349 for the Spectra White, Hot Pink and Aqua blue colors and Aftershock Red SGD$369.Here is a mirco review of the product.

With one look it's clear that the chair is modelled after Bucket Seats. It's not only for the looks, the chair modelled in such a away also provides egronomics to its user. The material of the chair is PU leather or more commonly known as "Fake" leather. As perviously mentioned there are currently a total of 4 Colors to choose from: Spectra White, Hot Pink,Aqua Blue & Aftershock Red.

My Chair was deliverd to me about 3-4 days ago after a one month waitng time. My chair is actually part of a MO, My guild Ordered a total of 57 Chairs from Secret Lab which bring me to the point that if your are able to do a Mass Order you might be able to get a discount from them. At the time of posting if you do visit thier website, you will see that all the chairs are out of stock and you will have to place an order with them, i am not sure about the lead time now.

Overall after a few days of usage i am very stastifed with the build quality and the comfort it provides. Of course as with basic office chairs the height of the chair is adjustable. The Secret Lab's Throne armrest is able to tilt to several angles, the height of the arm rest itself is also adjustable. My fave function of the chair is that the back is able to be tilted, espcially useful if you are watching a video on your computer. I got friends whom ask that if a small built person like myself would be suited for such a chiar, it does fit well and i am only 1.58m. The head rest postion is just nice for me.

I have yet find anything i dislike about this chiar yet. But i would like to point out that 2 of my friends had the buckle straps for the bottom support broken upon arrival. But it was quickly resloved by the next day with the replacement straps sent right to thier doorstep.

At SGD $349-$369 its really a good buy, considering the fact that its competing brand DXracer lowest tier cost USD$299.

Singapore – Suspend disbelief, and get set to dive into an epic pop-culture weekend as
International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS) returns this August!
Into its fourth year, ICDS 2015 will once again feature internationally acclaimed guests, a gamut
of pop-culture content and Singapore's Annual Cosplay Chess stage show.

Following the success of last year's ICDS, which saw some 5,000 visitors attending the fan-driven
cosplay & pop-culture convention at *SCAPE in Orchard Road, organizer Neo Tokyo Project has
decided to up their game. This year, they have transformed the youth recreation and retail hub
into a two-day pop-culture playground that promises twice the fun.
The convention aims to attract more than 8,000 pop-culture lovers from all walks of life, including
anime fans, cosplay enthusiasts, gamers and photographers.
Guests-of-honor at ICDS 2015 includes the multi-talented Jin (BehindInfinity) from the
            Philippines.

Jin is an internationally acclaimed cosplayer whose work has been featured on publications and
online media worldwide. Jin is known for versatility and accuracy in character portrayal, which is
showcased in elaborate photo shoots with cosplay group Tux Team. Recently making waves on
social media was their uncannily accurate cosplay photos of Disney’s “Big Hero 6”, as well as the
            anime “Ore Monogatari!!”

Joining Jin is Indonesian PlaMo (plastic model) expert Ifan Cusianto. An award-winning PlaMo
builder and writer of the critically-acclaimed “Scratchbuild Revolution” guidebook, Ifan will be
sharing his techniques at the Hobbymate booth during ICDS.
“International Cosplay Day Singapore is a convention that transcends barriers”, said Mr. Jason
Koh, account director of Neo Tokyo Project. “The event celebrates pop-culture diversity, and we
hope to create a holistic environment where visitors can experience the best that pop-culture has
            to offer.”

With the tagline “BREAK OUT!”, this year's convention aims to break Singapore's traditional
convention mould with more hands-on activities, panels, and learning opportunities.
Participants are also invited to step out of their comfort zones, to immerse themselves in on-stage
programs such as the Anime Quiz and Cosplay Runway, and to mingle with like-minded fans and
visitors in dedicated rest and hobby areas throughout the convention.

Both days of ICDS are also themed. Day 1 is dedicated to celebrating anime and Japanese popculture,
with the popular AniDance & Music segment in the evening, while Day 2 will see cosplay
            performances come to the fore.
